The Book House and The Little Book House have been mainstays in Stuyvestant Plaza, in Albany, NY since my childhood (and before that, too!). As a child, I loved coming into this cozy, filled-to-the-brim bookstore to browse the incredible and thoughtfully curated collection of children's books and YA novels. I especially loved hunkering down inside the little playhouse at the front of the store, with a good book. As I got older, I migrated to the other half of the store and indulged my teenage fantasies of being a Beat Generation poet, perusing the  great selection of novels and poetry by Beat authors. The staff is very helpful, knowledgeable and very happy to help you find what you need.
