HELPFUL SUGGESTION: if you like what you've read (and even if you didn't), come back in a day or two. It'll be better. In fact, if you hated it, you must come back and read it again because it will definitely be better. *************************** "I find that I am so excited I can barely sit still or hold a thought in my head. to sail to sea - a sunday poem for you

Rate: 8 Flag

20080907-152257-4

balmy night the moon upon

we stand and face the endless

hand in hand we vow

one last time

you and I

together we’ll go to sea

mates we’ll be

and sing and waltz

and love together

you disappeared

to face the endless

shook away my hand

gone without me

I promised to be your brother

and climb the masts

and steer the ships

to sing a waltz and dance forever

we’d sail the seas

we’d sing the sails

we’d laugh and love

do you remember?

I'm feeling the poetry today. sometimes when the heart is heavy, it opens to let itself breathe. that's what this poem is for me today. a breath.
The sea rejuvenates the soul; this poem brings in a tide of memories. ~R~
I feel good after reading this. What a great sentiment for a Sunday. Scratch that. A great sentiment for any day.
Can't say it any better than those who've already commented: lovely, tide of memories from a soul rejuvenated by the sea, and a lovely sentiment for any day because we all feel better after reading such beautifully written words. Thanks for feeling poetry's sweet breath today.
Friendships, very well done. To those loved and lost. You write with such feeling
Thank you for sharing this. Excellent piece.

Rated.
Excellent poem. I thought of a song by Rod Steward called "Sailing" for some reason. I guess as Chuck says, it brings in a tide of memories!

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR KIND WORDS.
