Tomorrow's the day, and picnicers far and wide (ok, just me) have been preparing
for the OS gathering at Foster Beach.
I've spared no expense to ensure we find each other (five bucks at the Dollar Tree) so look for these cheerful balloons and luau banner to find our spot along the lakefront.
We'll be about a half mile south of Foster Beach. Pass the parking lot, and continue down Simonds. This grassy area is along the left side of Simonds if you're facing South. Free (for now) non-metered parking is available on each side of the street.

Picnic from 6 -7:30, on the east side of the street, along the beautiful shore of Lake Michigan.
Full Moon Drumming begins around 7:30, on the West side of the street in a grassy clearing.
I'll attach the balloons to my snazzy lawn chair when we move to the grassy clearing, in case you don't make it out before then.
You bring your friendly smile, a picnic dinner and/or beverage, and something to sit on.
Bring or wear your suit and towel if you want to take a swim before or after the picnic.
(Lake water temps are cool and refreshing, not icy.)
Bathrooms are in the field house.
The tile mural at the Foster Ave underpass is on Foster, just under Lake Shore Drive. I hope everybody gets a chance to see it.
The weather looks fabulous for tomorrow.
Hope to see my favorite Chicago OSers there!

Have fun!
:-)
spotted_mind - Yep, those are mighty fine balloons. We really know how to whoop it up in Chicago! I'm really grateful for summer vacation, and picnic-ing instead of working.
jim - Ah, better odds. Good. As for the planning, I'm running myself ragged: there's the balloons, and ....uh,....the balloons....
whew! I'm just worn out from all the planning....
Michael - I'm sure we'll see a squirrel, just not The Squirrel. I think he likes his anonymity more than picnics. Wish you could be here to join the fun.
Dolly - Bells, whistles, whatever you want to wear!
Gwendolyn - Ok, but they probably won't be dancing at Sheffield's. I'd love to hear more about RUI.
I'm hoping to feel better tomorrow night to go to a concert in Millennium Park. If anyone wants to meet up there, send me a message and we can figure out a plan.
Hope you have fun tonight. *sigh*
