American Waterboard Challenge: Are You Man Enough?

Rate: 5 Flag

The next time someone breezingly blows aways the serious nature of waterboarding as a form of torture, ask that person: Would you allow yourself to be sumbitted to the same technique? It ain't nothing but a frat party hazin' thang, right?

Would Bill O'Reilly take the American Waterboard Challenge?

Christopher Hitchens did.

And remember, Hitchens's waterboarding happened under controlled conditions that probably didn't approximate those  held captived by the U.S. One of the al Qaeda operatives, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, was waterboarded 183 times in one month.

So, if you're man enough, or bitch enough, take the challenge.

I'll pass. But I can think of a few folks who should take the challenge, and the sooner the better.
good for hitchens for trying it out and all, but no one needs to experience waterboarding to come to the conclusion that it's torture. the fact that the US prosecuted people for waterboarding americans during WWII and waterboarding equipment is on display in genocide museums is enough evidence to know that waterboarding should never be used by a country that claims to not torture people.
I remember that Hitchens YouTube. He pussed out early.

OS blogger Joe Blow has been waterboarded repeatedly. He describes the experience in his blog:

...On Torture, And The Need To Prosecute Bush And His Goons
I could barel watch a demonstration of waterboarding, let alone sign up for it - I am sure the stress of anticipation would kill me before the water even filled the bucket.

This should be treated like a threat on a public figures life - anyone who shrugs off "enhanced interrogation" techniques should be picked up immediately - and then that "Technique" demonstrated on them...
I choke up reading New Post and great comments.
I'll pass. I No want a rain check. I shed tears then too.
Open up mouths. Pretend water-drips are gum drops.

dijon, who I notice removed the phrase four years as marine recruiter, from his self-description after we "discussed" current eligibility requirements in "Are you an extremist" claims: "If you read the memos, the waterboarding described there is so basic and CONTROLLED that the possibility of anything detrimental happening to the detainee is very slim indeed."

If two detainees being subjected to this "basic" technique 288 times (some say "only" 266) is considered controlled by him, what would he consider out of control?

I think this alleged former marine would volunteer to take the challenge to prove to us how wrong we are.
Of course those that step up to the line also have to agree to a few conditions.
1.) All applicants must realize that they will be sleep-deprived for approximately 48 hours before the actual waterboarding event begins.
2.) During those same 48 hours they will be deprived of all basic necessities, i.e food & drink.
3.) During the waterboarding session, each applicant will be hastily thrown onto a cold, hard, flat surface and all limbs will be tightly held down by restraints or people.
4.) Once properly restrained, all applicants will then be tilted 45 degrees, so their feet are in turn higher than their heads.
5.) Water will be first dripped over the face (and cloth cover) and will then be increased to a steady flow.
6.) Fighting back will only cause the restraints to tighten, often cutting off circulation to the limbs. This action is not recommended.
7.) Once the proper information has been garnered, the session will cease. However, you may be forced to lie in the tilt position for several minutes, if not hours, if only for lingering effect.

All applicants may sign up with the agent at the front desk.
Never mind Rush and Bill, waterboarding is passe and old hat. The new game in town is genital mutilation.

Penis Cutting: Torture or State Sponsored Body Modification?

Not one or two cuts, but twenty or thirty in under 2 hours.
