Jesus Loves (Some of) You

I post this in honor of one of my local heroes: Scarlet-the Freewayblogger. He went around at night during the Bush Regime and put up huge professional looking signs on freeway overpasses that said "Impeach". One word. I'd look up and see them all over the Bay Area and… Read full post »
The Horrible and the Miserable
Remember that Woody Allen movie where he was telling I think, Diane Keaton about how the "world is divided into 2 different types of people: "The Horrible and the Miserable": The horrible are deformed, paraplegic, disfigured, etc., and the miserable is "everybody else".
I work with both but mos… Read full post »

Overdrawn at the Compassion Bank
November 18, 2011
I wake up from that hypnogogic state, the one my Angular Gyrus brain has been overdoing lately (I swear someone was in my room yesterday morning when I was between a wakeful and sleep state) and remember this dream very clearly: I throw a party… Read full post »
"She Was Messin' with My Food"
Dear Jeff, my good old pal, of whom my memories wax fond. We had a good time together way back when.
You are not an idiot. In fact you are one of the brighter people I know, so don't even consider taking up smoking. Not because it's bad for you (I… Read full post »
Haiti
Ginny Rose has on her blog a section where comments from us (who are well fed, safe and warm) can send messages to the children of Haiti. I posted mine and I'm glad I did.
It got me to thinkin' about Haiti and it's history (and ours relevant to it).

I HATE Joe Lieberman
Who woulda thought that it would be Joe Lieberman, the whore of big business, invertebrate erstwhile democrat (not a one of 'em deserve a capitol D!) and relentless hounder of exactly what he said at the last minute he adamantly opposes, who would deny Americans what every other industrialized count… Read full post »

Update on Katrina Post
Thanks for all the kind comments folks. This entry was the original, just as I wrote it each night from Kelly AFB. It is (was) without spellcheck or editing in any way. It's the only version I saved.
This article was edited heavily and reprinted in the SEIU newspaper and various… Read full post »
I Went to do disaster relief after Katrina with a contingent of nurses from SEIU nationwide. New Orleans itself was inaccessable and Baton Rouge was a mess (organizationally), so we ended up in San Anton at an Air Force Base.
Down the Street from the Death House
Down The Street from the Death House
By Meg Brizzolara
The last time I had to look for a place to live I looked outside of Marin County, a place I’ve lived for thirty years. I moved here from Chicago in 1973 when everyone was moving here; when… Read full post »

Loose Associations after My Mother Died-2006
I came across an odd piece of rounded wood on a stick and for the life of me I couldn't remember it's purpose. Looks kinda like a hard boiled egg popsicle. It's smooth and seems to be utilitarian, about 3 or… Read full post »
