The Casual Observations of the Human Condition

Caution, politically smarmy.

So I'm watching the news this morning. They are reporting on the sweeping Republican victories in the Governors elections in Virginia and New Jersey. Is it a moratorium on the Obama administration as the pundits would have us feel? Is the future of the nation really based upon two state elections?

And the news is reporting on the vote to ban Gay marriage in Maine, I see a Supreme Court battle in the not to distant future. Plus there is a story on how Rhode Island closed a loophole on prostitution in the state. But something seems to be missing from the mainstream medias coverage today.

On August 7th of this year a new political party was launched, the Conservative Republicans of America Party and their first candidate was Doug Hoffman who ran for New York's 23 district House seat. The big names of the CRAP turned out to support him from Sarah Palen to Glen Beck. They spared no expense to promote their new candidate and even forced the Republican candidate, Dede Scozzafava, off the ballot. And what was the result of CRAPs first outing? According to the main stream media.....well good luck on finding that information.

But I was willing to seek the answer, CRAP was defeated as Democratic candidate Bill Owens received 49% of the vote and CRAP candidate Doug Hoffman received 46% of the vote.

But why is this an important, albeit ignored, election? Simple, the 23 District is 93.8% White, no excuse of "them minorities" turning out to stir up the vote. Also the district has voted Republican since 1993, 16 years of Republican victories. Although the MSM may be ignoring the election it shows a bigger picture of next years election, if the Republican party continues to allow CRAP to call the shots, they don't stand a chance.

Loving the CRAP! Best name for them, ever.
CRAP--best political Anacronym ever?

Well, they still have to compete with Richard Nixon's
CREEP (Committee to Re Elect (the)President) but it's a photo finish!

Excellent point! I have to admit, I wasn't aware of CRAP's creation - but it is good to see that they lost!
