Attention OS bloggers: Meet up in NYC in September?

Rate: 12 Flag

Greetings and salutations, everyone. I've been thinking about this for a while. I'm not good at organizing social events. I'm an ENTP. But all that aside, I am thinking about coordinating a meet up in NYC in September, likely after labor day, probably around the 16th or 17th.

Do you have any interest?

I would love to get together.
OEsheepdog, that is an excellent idea that you have put forth this evening! I certainly look forward to meeting you and any other OS members from the area.

For me, the Friday of that week would work well in that any hangover (from the vast numbers of drinks consumed on Friday evening) would then be worked off on Saturday. Also, mid-town works well for me since I would be heading towards Grand Central after that, which I imagine is the case for you, too.
If I didn't live in Tierra del Fuego, I'd defintely be there. I can't imagine how you'll have any fun at all without me.
I'll be teaching at the seminary on the 17th but could do the 16th, at 7:30 or later (I'll be doing my after school child care stuff until 7:00, on the Upper West Side. I am an Upper West Sider and don't know from mid-town but could probably find my way somewhere below 59th Street if I had to.) Actually, for me, Friday the 18th would be even better. I only work until 3:00 on Fridays. Keep me posted!
Doggie if you come to KC on the 10th and have a drink with us and Connie Mack I'll figure a way to make it there on the 16th-17th.

Seriously I would love to come up there. My son and I have "done" New Orleans a few times but both want to see NYC badly! May not be that feasible though unless I get this one big job that I'm trying to sell right now.
I think an event might be fun.
If you allow out-of-towners, count me in (shoulder willing).
This puli sheepdog would like to come but alas the distance is too great. But what an idea I may have to borrow for a meet up in Atlanta or New Orleans. Hope it's a blast.
I can drive from here...where and when???? And can you find me a cheap hostlel that is not hostile????:) I am ok with the pound. :)
RG -- Terrific

John -- Lets see if we can make it work

John -- Tierra del Fuego? Is that in Orange County?

Eva T -- I'll try a date that will work for you.

Trig -- Here's your chance to sell Andrew Hall that multi million dollar deck.

Caroline -- Terrific

Sally -- You are always welcome. Bring your shoulder along.

MM -- I understand
Of course last time I was there, I stayed at the Carlisle, so my expectations need to be blasted down several notches. :) to where they always have been and should be. Pound is good.
Janie -- My you have high standards. Hope you can come south of the border
My doggie license says that I can travel, my princess license is a little more restrictive with regards to accomodations, but my real human person license tells my princess to get a grip all the time, and my Russian immigrant license accepts any stack of hay with a wool blanket. I lurve NYC. Best city in the world...sign me up doggie. I'll bring the treats.
I'm in -- just pick a date and I'll make sure I'm off (i generally work at night). looking forward to it! And JK you can stay with me -- it's more like a hostile than the carlisle but comes with a yoga mat ... Thanks Sheep for taking on the role of social coordinator!
I'm not that far away, but I don't think I can afford a road trip right now. Between getting my son off to college and planning my 25th anniversary with my wife, I'm got pretty much just lint left in my wallet to comfort my poor smoking credit card.

Will be there in spirit, Andy, and will lift a bottle to you all at the appropriate time.
I'd love to come if I can get Valium and public transportation. I'm too much of a weenie to drive to NYC myself. Is there a train station near the proposed meeting place?
Lisa, last time we met very near to Penn Station. From what direction are you coming?
Janie -- it would be a privilege to meet you.

Cindy -- this is so cool

Bill -- I understand.

Lisa -- We can work something out.

RG -- you are way ahead of me.
Red and Sheepie - I'll be coming from Philly. Hoping I can catch a train in the suburbs that would take me to NYC.
If there are plans going on behind the scene can you keep me in the loop. I didn't want to commit but I will be in NYC that week and can maybe make it..depending..
I hope we can select some place quieter than last time.
