I've reached a point where it is harder and harder to spend time at Open Salon. Demands of my real world have overtaken the time I get to spend in my virtual world and with you.
I have about 10 posts that sit in drafts. I have to spend more efforts at work and at play, and I find the last two months of posts weren't as good as some of my earlier work.
While I like to think I hit a plateau with my writing, I tactually think it's more of an anthill.
The other challenge that I face with the limited time that I spend here is that I don't have enough time to read or comment. The volume of good writers has exponentially grown in the last year and half, and I find that I miss seeing many of my favorites, as their posts move through the feed so quickly.
I've come to appreciate many writers here, and while I have several favorites, there are many new voices that need to be heard, above mine.
So let me take a bow, thank you for your kindness and generosity in reading, rating, and commenting.
I see this post as a commencement rather than a flounce. I have nothing to be angry about and there is no one to me angry with. I've been treated very well here and I'm grateful for the opportunity. This place is a gift, and each of you are truly gifted. I wish you well and best wishes to you always.
For those of you who think this is a flounce I leave you with these words written by Bert Kalmar and Harry Ruby. If these guys only knew how this song could apply to Open Salon.
Hello, I must be going.I cannot stay,
I came to say
I must be going.
I'm glad I came
but just the same
I must be going.
For my sake you must stay,
for if you go away,
you'll spoil this party
I am throwing.
I'll stay a week or two,
I'll stay the summer through,
but I am telling you,
I must be going.

When you rule OS instead of it ruling you it helps. Sometimes the breaks are what give you the clarity to prioritize. Tough choices, but necessary. Be well, be happy and do come back when time permits!
Just make sure it's a break.
I'll look forward to hearing from you again. Best of luck in your endeavors. Oh, and drop me a note if you do write - since I probably won't know about it otherwise!
While yours is not a eulogy, your wit and insights will be sorely missed. Like you, writing creatively becomes increasingly harder especially when it starts to compete with things like trying to earn a living.

Rated, leaves a bone at the bowl for his good friend, and a hug, and a purr.
Go now, chase the sparrows from your door step and bark at the mail man....
