Season's Greetings

Rate: 27 Flag

A grey overcast replaced the dawn this morning. Two calls from my daughters in Maine confirmed a white Christmas had arrived in York and Cumberland counties. Grandchilden alive with the spirit of the holidays. Legos and Pokemon ruled their day.

Ms. Sheepdog and I exchanged gifts in front of the fire while looking out on the lake. We laughed as she unwrapped the snowshoe poles and I opined, "I have guaranteed a snow free winter by getting you these."

I was awestruck by her gift. A complete updating of my hybrid bike with new tires, new seat and tuneup. I will now have to use it. Which I both need and want to do.

My sister-in-law called for advice on cooking a rib roast. Cook  20 minutes a pound and at 325 degrees.

The most we will do this day is take a walk in Roosevelt Forest with the dogs, and just hang out in front of the fire.

Life is good. We have each other and we have our health. I wish that you have a wonderful day and year ahead. This is a good time to take stock and appreciate what we have and the value it brings you.

Be gentle with yourself and with others today.

Merry Christmas to you and Mrs. Sheepie. It sounds like the perfect day...
OEsheepdog, as I prepare to get my bicycle out for a spin today I thank you not only for your holiday greetings but also for: "I have guaranteed a snow free winter by getting you these." Some weather forecasters predicted a long and wet winter which could happen, but the wet might only be rain. Sounds like you are off to a wonderful start today and best wishes to you and yours!
high five to this my friend.
Its the Hallmark Channel for me.:)
HUGGGGGGGGG
HAPPY CHIRSTMAS
The same back at you OE.
An update of your bike - what a fine gift! I hope you enjoy it in the new year. I'm planning to go out for a little ride on our lovely sunny Christmas.

Your plans sound wonderfully relaxing. I hope you enjoy the day.
Your day sounds wonderful! Enjoy it well.
"We have each other and we have our health."

You have your priorities straight, Sheepie. And a fireplace, too. Pretty good.
Sheepie, me 'n' Red went for a nice ramble in the woods today. No snow, so the trek was fairly easy, despite a cutting wind off Lake Erie. We held hands, as is our wont, throughout. Life is indeed good.
Christmas as it ought to be.
How lovely. Such a peaceful day here as well.
We are lolling around until the big dinner at Son's house...how nice to just sit and read new books : )
Life is good. No worries today.
Merry Christmas!

All the very best to you and your family.

This is very wise and sweetly written.

What a wonderful way to spend the day with both of you together!

Happy holidays to you and your whole family.

"Be gentle with yourself and with others today"
i like that alot. Thanks Sheepy. Merry Christmas!
Idyllic, Sheepie. Thanks for sharing your day with us.
If the winter isn't white you can ride that hybrid. I'm ready to go either way, although I don't use poles with my snowshoes. There are still people (mainly crazy guys) out riding their bikes, though.

Best wishes.
Sounds so peaceful and wonderful. Your call for gentleness is being heeded.
Your day sounds absolutely perfect to me. Mel and I plan much the same here on the ranch.
From a land of white Christmas, the same back at you, OE.
"This is a good time to take stock and appreciate what we have and the value it brings you." Very well said!

Keri -- best to you.

Stim -- Hope you and Ms. Stim had a great day.

trilogy -- Congrats on the twins. Enjoy spoiling them

CM -- glad you liked it.

Con -- When my wife bought her snow shoes, she had to wait five winters before there was enough snow to use them. I'm trying to follow that tradition. Rode the bike today. It ride smooth, but I am out of shape.

Mary -- Thanks.
