Perhaps you've heard about this football game tomorrow

Rate: 14 Flag

I know many of you who are not from the northeast have tired of the hype about tomorrow's Super Bowl. I can't blame you. If  this had been a San Francisco/Baltimore match up, I would have tired of this immediately after the Conference Championship games. So I apologize to you in advance of this post.

Let talk about the Vegas odds and the conventional wisdom. Vegas gives the edge to New England and the conventional wisdom says the Patriots defense can't stop the Giants offense.

The Giants fans I come in contact with all feel the Patriots and their quarterback Tom Brady are on the decline. Giants' players also feel this way. Who can blame them?

New England fans know Tom Brady rarely has back to back poor performances. The Pats "D" are playing their best football in the playoffs.

I think this year's game has the best match ups in recent years. I honestly believe either team can win. I wouldn't be surprised to see this game go into overtime.

So who do I pick to win this game? Flip a coin.

OEsheepdog, it's always great to have a game like this in which the outcome really is a huge question mark!
When I was doing presidential campaign work in Iowa long ago, the only day (besides Christmas) where I didn't have to work was on Super Bowl Sunday. What kind of country is it where it's mandatory that everyone has to drop everything to watch the TV commercials on a particular day?
Flipping and eating some of the goodies...for tomorrow...
With a brother in Boston and remembering when I watched Tom Brady play at my alma mater it's a no-brainer--the Giants get a big dose of reality.

Patriots unless they make some crazy, crazy mistakes. I believe we will see one of Brady's finest performances ever tomorrow; in fact I want to watch because I think he's going to be that good.
I'm more interested in how long it takes Kelly Clarkson to sing the national anthem (under/over is 1:34), whether she omits a word or flubs a line (5:2) and how many close-ups there are of Peyton Manning in the crowd (under/over is 3.5, not counting halftime).
We'll be watching the "Puppy Bowl"
Sheepie,

You're writing about football...right? :)

I honestly had no idea that the Super Bowl is tomorrow until I read your post. I usually don't follow sports even though I actually really enjoying going to games. I have no idea usually what's happening on the field, but the energy in the arena/stadium is always so much fun.

You have to remember that I don't have any brothers so I haven't learned about sports yet.

Thanks for the news flash about the big game. :)

XOXOXO

P.S. Please send my best regards to your lovely wife.
I don't care who wins but we are having a Super Bowl party. Any excuse for a party. I'll being wearing a Bears jersey.
I'll probably be watching a movie, although I might tune in for the halftime show to see if it's amusing.
Go Pats! I'm glad for the excuse to serve queso dip for dinner.
Some Hoosier folks here would rather have the North Koreans playing that the Patriots in our purty new stadium. I'm just repeating what I've heard. I've been within TV range of Indy all week and the coverage is wall to wall and I was getting pretty sick of it. I'm hoping for a Twilight Zone marathon on an opposite channel, but I'm sure that won't happen and I'm sure we'll watch the game (and cheer for the Giants.)
"Any given Sunday"---I'm with you my friend!
I'm not going to watch the game, but I'm going to hang around and eat too much as if I did care! We're having pizza, too.
Both of my kids married New Englanders so these kind of match ups get a bit like Hatfields and McCoys. I truly hope the Giants win and hope that team that played so poorly against the Redskins does not reappear.
Maybe Madonna will have a wardrobe failure.R
The game rules the players ...well lets hope they are good.
