In praise of "30 Rock's" hidden gems:Grizz and Dot Com
The emmy award winning 30 Rock has the two-some G and DC (Grizz and Dot Com). They are Tracy's entourage that keeps him real or as sane as two people can help a neurotic person. (In picture, Grizz is the tallest in group. Dot Com is the next tallest standing behind woman with Black dress.)
As I play catch up on 30 Rock, I am reading what I can about the show on the web. My loyalty is to my cousin so I am watching him on primetime as I struggle with what is going on with Grey's Anatomy on the other channel. ( long sigh)
I prioritized. Believe me it is difficult to switch from what I know to what I don't know. This is a big grand gesture for me. But at the end of the day, I rather support family in their endeavors especially since Kevin Brown aka Dot Com is first family member to make the small and big screen ( http://bit.ly/2q8e1E Kevin's facebook page ) or least the only one I know. note to self: call cousin to check...
As Dot Com and Grizz grow in popularity I want to know I helped and watched their fame. As I query my friends and acquaintances about the show, I am running into blank stares and silence over the phone in South Florida. Most of my friends are Black but I ask Whites too! Same response from everyone they sort of heard of it but as they stutter through their explanations...... My circle of friends is not the focus group for 30 Rock. A few (maybe 3) of my friends out of pure courtesy to our relationship are starting to watch .... and only because Dot Com is my cousin.
The other night I said to one of my closest friends I can't believe you are watching football over my cousin. I was razzing her but....somewhere within me I hoped she would've said "ok I will watch it". But she didn't because after all nothing comes before football. She is a woman who loves football. I know that but I a girl "has to try".
One of my latest reads is that fans are asking for a webisode:
Comment from my research: I would love to see a Grizz and Dot Com webisode! That would be a lot of fun. NBC could even do it as an episode of "Kenneth the Web Page" with Grizz and Dot Com as special guests, or whatever Kenneth does

grizzanddotcom: Should grizzanddotcom do an ep on the web?
JangoJoe: @grizzanddotcom you should do some webisodes. that would be fantastic
ericallen247: @grizzanddotcom Should #grizzanddotcom do an ep on the web? / YES! #Agreed
MargieC: @grizzanddotcom Yes! You guys need an episode on the web.

Since Dot Com and Grizz are not on every episode, a webisode might help those who want to see more of G and DC. Wow this is their 4th season, let's hope fans get what they are asking for. I missed seasons 1- 3. I surmise there were some funny episodes after all those are the seasons that projected all of them to their current status of popularity and fame. Art imitating life is what this show seems to be about. 30 Rock revived a couple of careers and catapulted others and made two unknowns G and DC bonafide "stars".
Should I backtrack and watch seasons 1-3 or move forward in my research and consistently watch from here on out? I guess it boils down to how much love I have for my cousin? Will let you know..... lol

~rated this for the love you feel!
BTW: loved this: "... Dot Com is the next tallest standing behind woman with Black dress." uh... you mean Tina Fey? ;)
Today, I am thinking of making use of my sweet potatoes. I plan to create a roasted, creamy sweet-potato soup! And since I am on a diet, I will limit myself to 1 cup only.
..Enjoy talking to you!
i do love that show.
Anyway: you should definitely start at the beginning with 30 Rock. A lot of great stuff to catch up on! I hope you caught the recent episode where DotCom decided to audition for the show. It was hilarious!
a few years ago one late night in NY we found ourselves at a shady stand up comedy venue. There was us the Indian couple, 2 girls from Latin America and a few other foreign folks. The comedians all balked at the sight of us but grimly carried on the business of being pretty funny, assuming that none of us spoke English. Dotcom was there, and absolutely did not believe me when I said we saw 30 rock in Dubai. He was funny and I thought your cousin was SERIOUSLY cute!
Great posting today, by the way!
