Touching Earth

like the striated muscles from the backbone to the shoulder blades, breaking the soil.

peony 
white with a red center, a scratch in skin from work in the garden

like an alien creature hiding in a red dress

young and tender garlic

a bowl made of clay 
a bowl formed of clay and fingerprints - touch the earth - it is what you make it

I can't help but wonder what would happen if you did the reverse -- photographed the captions (the actual muscles, etc. Think Mappelthorpe) next to these-- which are lovely.

After several visits, I still stop at the last one. There's power and mystery inn that-- and a great dancer! Makes me wonder how they'd look big.....
