Finished Corn Man Sculpture

Rate: 1 Flag

Now that the sculpture is finished, I see many anatomical errrors.  The left eye is two far over.  The socket is not shaped correctly.  The whole left side was in the dark half of my cave-like apartment.   This was a face from my imagination.  Tomorrow, I start sculpting my first live model.

I coated this sculpture in hot beeswax.  Afterwards, a swarm of honey bees converged on me.  I hadn't seen too many honey bees this summer and don't know where they have been holed up.  They are endangered.  If you want more honey bees around you, just melt beeswax.

I have prepared the base for the new sculpture and the clay sub- structure, which is in Vashon white.

Salon is having a terrible time loading the graphics - all I'm getting is the little "broken graphic link" icon. Grr.

I'll be back, ok? When things aren't so... busy?
No, wait! It's here! Lucy! Wow!
I'd love to see a blog about the whole process if you have pics. Great work.
Very cool, Lucy. This is so creative.~r
Thanks Divorce Bard. From The Midwest, the earlier photos are on the blog. I will also document the process of my next work, which starts today. Thanks Joan H.
I love this. I imagine him covered in bees!
