I had been filling out the paperwork for twenty minutes, a cramp in my right hand, when I came to the section about family psychiatric history.
I meticulously went down the rows of disorders, having to circle way too many of them.  After alcoholism, which my family has a long and painful history with, was listed homosexuality. 

 I could remind myself that I am dealing with a psychiatrist in Colorado, where people's minds seem narrower.  This is the land of Focus on the Family and New Life Church, which thrives despite their deposed male-prostitute ****ing leader.  

In 1973 the American Psychiatric Association voted to remove homosexuality from its list of psychiatric disorders.  It seems this psychiatrist is providing outdated information.  

I don't usually get angry.  I've met bigots, but when someone is in a professional capacity and shows bigotry, something must be done.  I hate to think of this psychiatrist tinkering around in the minds of others.
