Colorado, Between Peak and Prairie

Anywhere is beautiful and what looks dry and dead, isn't necessarily as it seems.  Looking closely with my camera has shown me this.  Everytime I get depressed about being in an arid, somewhat dull environment, I head out with my camera and see what is beautiful.  The camera has taught me to see what is actually there and not my idea of what is there.  It is always a surprise.

I really like the Reservoir. The way you see and framed the blocks of color and texture forms a strong statement. And I love your written statement. The camera is a magic guide, for the receptive seer.

Beautiful photographs. When I first moved to Colorado as a child, it seemed very bleak to me compared to southern California. Colorado grew on me, too, and I miss the clean, spare beauty now that I live in the floral abundance of subtropical Florida.

Hey Sophieh. I thought it resembled Ray Bradbury's landscape in Martian Chronicles. Getting out in it has shown me the beauty.

I love your gators and lush primordial flora, but not your summer heat and humidity.
