Spring is nature's apology for the chills of winter. It's a wondrous time when flowers and trees wake from their long slumber to greet us with colorful brilliance as thanks for our patience. I wanted to share a few gems from my garden that I was able to capture this past weekend. I hope that it tickles your cheeks like it did mine and I encourage other gardeners to create their own posts showcasing their gardens.

White dogwoods are my absolute favorite flowering tree, and I see that the lilacs are just about to pop. (I went to Kent State University, and there was a spot called "Lilac Lane", a walkway bordered on both sides with huge lilac bushes. In spring, it had the most heavenly fragrance!)
Happy Spring everyone!
It's Autumn for goodness sake...

Bill!! Well, I can't say that I disagree with you. lol
Hi Jeanette! I absolutely love dogwoods....four came with the property and I bought two pinks and two beige/buff ones. More lilacs is one of my short term goals too. Gotta love 'em!
Beautiful! Are all these varieties in your yard! So jealous!
It's been so cold, rainy and windy here so no good photos yet! Hope to do this soon, though and share as well. Love spring!

Wow....Pam....I am so envious of your 30' of lilacs.....I only have two bushes right now....but I'm working on it.
FLW.....it will be here before you know it. I'd forgotten that not everyone's flowers have bloomed yet....oops!
Wordsmith....agreed....and you definitely have a way with words! Thanks for coming by!
Mal....see....I was being a little insensitive to you guys in Oz, wasn't I? lol
It's a sad time for gardens in California. We're having a drought. I feel bad about watering and bad about letting the plants die. Right now, they're getting by on the little bit of rain we've had. The cherry trees are gonna bloom, though. They're pretty photogenic.
I had spring fever bad today and had to take a drive around the lake. Forgot the camera at home, but will take it next drive around.
Thank you for sharing.
For some reason, I thought pink dogwoods were common.....but judging from the comments, they aren't. Shows how much I know! Yes, I am always planting something...bulbs, a few seeds, perennials, annuals, shrubs.....I love it.
Thanks, Annette!! I appreciate your stopping by to walk in my garden. BTW, love the flying nun avatar!
KOB....lol....thanks for coming by, guy....and ignore that mean Bill.
Julie, I absolutely love azaleas.....they are all blooming like mad...
DCV.....don't tempt me. hehehehe I've already mentioned in my interview conducted by the lovely Psychomama, that I'd like to have a garden party! One of these days........
Thanks, Procopius!
Sirenita!! lol Good luck with that, girl.....I have weeds all over!! Yuck! I understand about the drought....we are in year 5 or so of ours. Which is why I have a 275 gallon water tank that I use to capture the rainwater off of our roof. I think if we get, say one inch of rain, we can collect over 80 gallons per hour....so imagine a big rainfall....that large container would overflow a little over three hours. I wish that I had two of them. They are somewhat lifting restrictions. We can now use soaker hoses for an hour every other day (depends on your address). We can water before 10 am for 25 minutes, I believe. If I depended on restrictions, my plants would die, so the rainwater tank helps (I think the tank used to hold pressure washer cleaning fluid, back in the day). I also use a 5 gallon bucket in the shower, to collect water instead of letting it run down the drain....
Mike! I had better see some pictures soon, young man! I'm trying to grow tomatoes too this year.....I don't feel too confident about veggies, but you never know until you try, right?
Penrose....no thank you for coming by to share it with me!
PM, if you want me to....ahem..... to come all the way to Ireland to run those builders off....I guess I can make the sacrifice. Sure, I will be inconvenienced by the emerald green countryside, the mountainous cliffs with views to kill for and a few hundred year old castles might obscure my view every once in awhile....but I am willing tolerate it for a friend.......sigh....
ROFLOL!!
Just joking about :-)
Actually I am envious of your beautiful garden... Beyond those beautiful flowers I see a well "mulched" garden bed for them to grow in - there is a lot of TLC there...
Take care - and pity us, it's winter in less than 6 weeks.

Anni, I've murdered plenty in the past (heck, I still do!) but practice makes perfect....start with pots first and work your way to digging in the dirt.
Ariana, you are well on your way.....your herb garden is great!
Thanks for coming by Cartouche!! You are very welcome!
