Not just lived through, thrived during. And heck, I was still picketing in the 1990s. As for the "private union" part - let's just say I'm very happily married - to a guy who I knew by the time of our second date would not cross a picket line, so we had to go to a different movie instead of the one we'd planned. Worked out well ;)
