Hello fiction writers of OS! Here you'll find weekly prompts for Fiction Weekend, as well as links to stories written for each Fiction Weekend Open Call._____________________ EVERYONE is welcome to participate in the open calls. THE ONLY REQUIREMENT IS TO WRITE A FICTION PIECE! __________________________________ Here's how to take part in Fiction Weekend: 1. Every Monday, a prompt will be posted here. Come by and check it out. 2. Ideally, try to write a fiction story based on the prompt. But if the prompt doesn't inspire you, you can write a story on any topic you like - THE ONLY RULE IS THAT IT HAS TO BE A WORK OF FICTION. 3. On Thursday night or Friday morning-ish, the Stories List will be posted for that week. If you've written a story, announce it in the comments section of this post. Please include a short description and the title. 4. Show support for your fellow participants: If possible, please try to read and comment on at least three stories. ________________ For more information, or if you have any questions, please see the list of links below, or feel free to contact me!__________Happy reading and writing!

Fiction Weekend Stories for 12/23-12/25 AND 12/30-1/1

Rate: 9 Flag

This is the place to read Fiction Weekend stories and/or to announce your own piece for, exceptionally, THE NEXT TWO WEEKENDS(12/23-12/25  AND 12/30-1/1)

Stories will be announced in the comments section over THE NEXT TWO WEEKENDS, so feel free to check back regularly for new pieces to read.

If you're participating, announce your piece with its title and a brief description in the Comments section of this post.

The prompt for 12/23-12/25 was inspired by our friend Dianne Schuch-Lindsey: A person recieves a birthday card and a holiday card every year, but from whom? It is never signed and no mater where the receiver moves, these anonymous greetings follow.

The prompt for 12/30-1/1 is:  Write a story that takes place on New Year's Eve.

Or, if these prompts didn't make you want to celebrate, you could write a fiction piece on any topic, in any style you wanted.

Everyone is welcome to join in - if you feel inspired, go for it!

The only requirement is that a piece announced in the comments be a fiction pieceIf you're not sure what qualifies as "fiction" on this blog, please read this

Happy writing and reading!

And, of course:

Happy Holidays, indeed! And to that end, we have a truly happy story called Break Down Letters. Stalkers suck.
Here's my story for this week (Unsigned cards, and other love notes.) It kinda follows the prompt.
Happy Holidays to all.
Here is my offering, again, Weird Stuff for Christmas.

Happy reading...
"Mystery Solved" I'm enjoying the wide range of responses to this prompt. What an amazing bunch of writers. I feel so simple here but I do love short romances with a happy ending. I just can't help it.
Lost, Then Found .................. is the title of my piece. (I hope it didn't get lost since I posted it early)

Happy Holidays to you and yours. However you celebrate or if you do not here's hoping for a better coming year!
for today, no prompting could be integrated, sorry.
