Fiction Weekend Prompt for 1/13-1/15 2012

Rate: 3 Flag

Something a little different for this week's OS FW Club prompt...

This past weekend, I saw the video for "You and I", a song by Lady Gaga.  While the video is the typical pastiche of weird images and fantastic costumes that you'll find in most of Lady Gaga's work, I thought this one was really disjointed. Several of the scenes, images, and characters struck me, and I wished the director had narrowed down the storylines (of sorts) to, say, two - or, heck, even one.

What I'd like to suggest for this week's prompt is:

Write a story based on something you see in the official video for Lady Gaga's "You and I".

The video is above, but if it's not working or there's another problem, please click here. The song is sort of pop-country, but if you think you'll hate it, no worries; it's the images that are important here, not the music, so feel free to watch the video on "Mute".

Or, if this prompt doesn't do it for you, write a fiction piece on any topic, in any style you want.

I'll post the Stories List Thursday night or Friday morning, and participants are free to announce their stories throughout the weekend.

REMEMBER, everyone is welcome to participate in the OS Weekend Fiction Club - the only requirement is that your piece be a work of fiction.

If you don't know what "Fiction" means in terms of this blog, please see this post for an explanation.

If you feel inspired, come join in!  For information on how to announce your story, etc, feel free to click here .  Or check out the basic info in the profile column, near the top left of the border.

Happy writing!

That song grew on me. It sounded to me like an old drinking-song when I first heard it (didn't know it was Gaga). Right now, I'm afraid to watch the video. Ok, here goes...
what a marvelous prompt! I watched the video 6 times. Once to get a feel for the story line, the next 5 because I was meserized.
I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with. R
