Hello fiction writers of OS! Here you'll find weekly prompts for Fiction Weekend, as well as links to stories written for each Fiction Weekend Open Call._____________________ EVERYONE is welcome to participate in the open calls. THE ONLY REQUIREMENT IS TO WRITE A FICTION PIECE! __________________________________ Here's how to take part in Fiction Weekend: 1. Every Monday, a prompt will be posted here. Come by and check it out. 2. Ideally, try to write a fiction story based on the prompt. But if the prompt doesn't inspire you, you can write a story on any topic you like - THE ONLY RULE IS THAT IT HAS TO BE A WORK OF FICTION. 3. On Thursday night or Friday morning-ish, the Stories List will be posted for that week. If you've written a story, announce it in the comments section of this post. Please include a short description and the title. 4. Show support for your fellow participants: If possible, please try to read and comment on at least three stories. ________________ For more information, or if you have any questions, please see the list of links below, or feel free to contact me!__________Happy reading and writing!

This week's prompt is inspired by a somewhat inexplicable request from the boyfriend:

Write a story with a wolf in it.

Or, if that doesn't inspire you, write a fiction piece on any topic, in any style you want.

I'll post the Stories List Thursday night or Friday morning, and participants are free to announce their stories throughout the weekend.

REMEMBER, everyone is welcome to participate in the OS Weekend Fiction Club - the only requirement is that your piece be a work of fiction.

If you don't know what "Fiction" means in terms of this blog, please see this post for an explanation.

If you feel inspired, come join in!  For information on how, check out the basic info in the profile column, near the top left of the border of our blog.

 Happy writing!

I will be back with the final part of my trilogy of shorts: The Northern Lights - Rusty Comes Back. Late summer, the aurora borealis, and a homecoming. See you later!
It will be hard to outdo Jack London : )
...but I like the request!
Uh-oh. Watch out for the boyfriend! It's Twilight in Paris! Hmmm. There's the title for my story, anyway. Thanks!
Haha - ASH, I would LOVE to read that!
Howlllllllllllllllllllllllll!
I was going to write a story about three little pigs! Now how am I ever going to work a wolf into a story like that, I'll never know
R
He wasn't inspired by this shirt, was he?
I have taken the bait, and am trying my hand at writing according to the prompt. It was fun. It's a little rough, and I will probably have to edit it some more, but you have to let it loose sometime.

My contribution this week is a bawdy fable in ersatz Chaucerian style. Please read and enjoy "The Sausage Seller's Tale."
My first attempt at quick fiction is about three people and their positions in the pack. Shall I call it Pack Animals?
Seth - The boyfriend is utterly delighted by the Three Wolf Moon shirt - maybe that's what inspired him, indeed?
I've just posted my first hasty fiction, well my first fiction, in response to this prompt. It's called Three Wolves now. Rough product. Fun process.
