Celebrating Fiction Writing on Open Salon

OS Weekend Fiction Club

OS Weekend Fiction Club
December 31
Hello fiction writers of OS! Here you'll find weekly prompts for Fiction Weekend, as well as links to stories written for each Fiction Weekend Open Call._____________________ EVERYONE is welcome to participate in the open calls. THE ONLY REQUIREMENT IS TO WRITE A FICTION PIECE! __________________________________ Here's how to take part in Fiction Weekend: 1. Every Monday, a prompt will be posted here. Come by and check it out. 2. Ideally, try to write a fiction story based on the prompt. But if the prompt doesn't inspire you, you can write a story on any topic you like - THE ONLY RULE IS THAT IT HAS TO BE A WORK OF FICTION. 3. On Thursday night or Friday morning-ish, the Stories List will be posted for that week. If you've written a story, announce it in the comments section of this post. Please include a short description and the title. 4. Show support for your fellow participants: If possible, please try to read and comment on at least three stories. ________________ For more information, or if you have any questions, please see the list of links below, or feel free to contact me!__________Happy reading and writing!

Important news, Prompt AND Stories for Dec. 14-16 2012

Rate: 2 Flag

Hello faithful Open Salon FW participants.

I've had a lot of trouble logging in and posting the prompts and stories lists here lately - and I'm sure you've probably had trouble logging in and posting, as well.

So here's the deal: Until OS improves, the Prompt and Stories List will be the same post every week.

That means, on Monday or as close to Monday as I'm able to sign in, I will post the weekly writing prompt here.  Once you've written your story and can log in, feel free to announce it in the comments of this same post - THERE WILL BE ONLY ONE POST PER WEEK.

Hang in there, stalwart OSers - and for those of you who are fed up but would like to write/read stories for/from the OS community, just do a Google search for "Our Salon ning", and you'll find Our Salon, a site that most OSers have flocked to.

All that said, this week's prompt is in honor of Hanukkah:

Write a story about a miracle.

Or, if that doesn't inspire you, you can write a fiction story about anything you like - the only requirement is that it be a work of fiction.

Remember, when you've written your story, please come back and announce it in the same post as the prompt.

Happy writing and reading, and to those who celebrate, Happy Hanukkah!

"Miracle" A short piece for a nice holiday prompt.
It's called Even Shame Fades Away. It's about drinking, and there are no miracles here. I first posted it somewhere else but it's been tweaked and I added a photo. Peace.
