Conservatives: Faith over Facts

The latest conservative outcry about contraception led by the CBMH (Catholic Bishopian Male Hierarchy) isn't really about contraception or abortion for that matter except it logically, sensibly reduces it, nor is this about religious freedom v. government.  Again, it's a time for some general ob… Read full post »

If you give a tinker's damn about less fortunate fellow Americans, you have to be distressed at the spectacularly cynical circus that displays the clowns in the official Republican primary process: none, not even one, is fit to be president of the United States of America...period.

Republican primary presidential contender, Mitt Romney, self-described himself perfectly in the last presidential debate.  When confronted by fellow contender and swaggering Texan, Rick Perry, about his hiring of 'illegal immigrants' (sic) to 'mow his lawn' (more like manicure his massive estate… Read full post »

sparrows and snow

I hear the snowfall whispering around us and

I feel the teardrop in my eye go hard.

(It is indeed a barren winter)

My knees are wet and cold from kneeling beside you

in this, an unaccustomed spot, and I pronounce softly your life

CHRISTINE O'DONNELL IS MUSLIM

It's out there on Wikiipedia and how official is that?   Her mother is Muslim and her father is Arab?  It's true as far as I know.  Would tea partiers have voted for her if they had heard this?

Has anyone seen a birth certificate or a religious identity confirmation on her? … Read full post »

CHRISTINE O'DONNELL (R-DE) IS MUSLIM

It's out there on Wikiipedia and how official is that?  As far as I know, this story is true.  Well, O'Donnell's mother is Muslim and her father is Arab.  Would  fellow tea partiers have voted for her had they heard this?

Has anyone seen a birth certificate or a religious… Read full post »

We here in West Virginia do indeed take care of our own in matters of family and friends. It is cultural, it is sincere and it is ubiquitous growing out of the need to be my brothers keeper as those inviolate holy scriptures bind us to do...the problems lying therein left… Read full post »

Conspiracy Theorists, gather 'round...

Imagine this scenario: the real neocons, the ones you don't see or hear, summons the wall street barons, all corporate tycoons, Rupert Murdock and Pat Robertson together for a super-secret meeting at Camp David with Geo. W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Mitch McConnell and John Boenner (John McCain has the flu,… Read full post »

Here they go, again...

Now, Ross Douthat is further utilizing his 'privilege' of replacing Billy Kristol's coffin corner lunacy at the NYT with todays opinion piece.  He, like Kristol, needs to be taken to the fact checker woodshed.  (I think Kristol actually was and got fired).  One example: how GWB ga… Read full post »

George W. Bush and Dick Cheney intentionally misled us into the war in Iraq and a star-gazed media enabled them ergo, many decent, rational Americans are not inclined to believe their national leaders when they tell them their health care reform bills will actually help all of them.

Did I listen closely enough to Obama?

Whew!  I don't think I've ever felt a hotter or longer August than this one.  Of course, that's thanks to the misnomered 'health care reform' production of long, extended blasts of hot air from the least informed, most ill-tempered and least caring of my fellow citizens, especially pure dri… Read full post »

REALITY: Punked on Health Care...

There will be a health related bill come September or October and more accurately, it could be called health insurance modification with the foot/finger/tongue imprimatur of the hospital, pharmaceutical and private health insurance companies proudly etched on it.

There will be no non-p… Read full post »

We've all read, watched and heard the opinions pro and con about Sarah Palin and I think some statements from either side ring true.  I'd like to make a few factual observations based on what some of her supporters said to me.

I've met a lot of people here in southwest WV,… Read full post »

There are so many more important issues to discuss but the newest publicity hound, Dick Cheney has forced a momentary break to address the pathetic state of his blood-starved brain which seems to perceive itself as the Dickensonian head of a depressed, vulnerable orphanage: America.

Arlen Specter--ENOUGH ALREADY

Credibility Flash:  Senator Arlen Specter is now a democrat?  and, Governor Sarah Palin is now pro-choice!  Either of these declarations makes as much sense as the other which means neither.  Isn't it fun to double-speak...

Enough already.  It's disgusting to watch some… Read full post »

Southern senators including Shelby and Sessions of Alabama, Corker of Tennessee, et. al. have resumed the American Civil War and have launched an all-out, scorched-earth strategy against ironically, the union.

I just witnessed via TV, an Iraqi journalist throw a shoe, then reach down and remove his other shoe and throw it, too.  Where?  At Pres. Geo. W. Can Obama say, '...YOU'RE OUTTA HERE!'

President-elect Barack Obama said the other day that friendship would not affect his decisions on policy/personnel matters.  Well, bravo.  What I am most concerned about is whether his rather admirable temperament will permit him to 'dismiss' anyone under his charge when they have seri… Read full post »

Add-on the rivals approach a Catch 22?

Barack Obama himself has said he doesn't want 'yes' sycophants around his decision making.  His political chess skills are established and I admire them yet,  Hilary Clinton as SOS is ill-advised.  What second or third move ahead can she be?

I see danger in the very fact th… Read full post »

I've Never felt this 'Good' before...
