When my daughter Eleanor was a toddler she could answer the standard queries that doting parents use to show off their children’s intelligence and charm. What does a cow say? Moo moo. What does a lamb say? Baa baa. And if you asked her, "What does George W. Bush say?" she would hop around, scratch her armpits and say "Ooh Ooh Ooh." Then one day she started pre-school and the teachers decided it would be nice for the 4-year-olds to learn some civics. I was then forced to admit to her that George W. Bush was a monkey and a president.
