Hazel was in my room watching me undress one evening when she exclaimed,
"Oh, boobies! I love boobies!" - Hazel, aged 2.
Early in the autumn we were explaining to Eleanor that she would start attending a Mandarin class on Saturday mornings. Her father would be nearby, in a class for adults. Since Hazel was too young to take a Chinese class, she and I would be taking a music class. Eleanor thought this over and suggested,
"Maybe Hazel should take an English class. She doesn't speak English very good." - Eleanor, aged 5.
After 16 years of marriage and two kids, our brains are very much diminished. Jimmy's motto has been "dumber every day" for several years. But this was the year we pretty much threw in the towel and started substituting "uh" for most nouns,
"Pass me the ... uh ... please." - Jimmy, aged 38.
