Dude, Where's My Brush?

Rate: 9 Flag

This is not my Farrah hair.  This is my brother Clay's Farrah hair.  The woman's influence extended beyond her own sex.  Vain young teenage boys loved her hair as much as her body.  And Clay always had great hair.

This is the closest I ever came to Farrah hair.  Lifeless and flat, and that took an hour to achieve.  I always liked Kate Jackson better than Farrah.  She was the "brainy" one, remember? I wanted to be the brainy one because for me it was a realistic goal.  A few hours in the bathroom was all it took to convince me that I was never going to be the one with the great hair.

Although, for much of my life I did want to be Clay, minus the great hair.

Oh dear, that's great.
When I was about 13, my hair wouldn't feather, try as I might. My older sister's hair would fly back in perfect peaked wings. She sensed my frustration, and literally came up with a taunting song with the refrain: "his hair won't feather/mine does!" Surreal to think about now (I haven't had hair to feather since I was about 22).
It just sucks when your brother's hair is better than yours. Love the pics of both.
Your brother had the David Cassidy look going for him!
I definitely see Kate Jackson! Very cute.
Yep, his hair is still better than mine. Thick and brown and hardly any gray. But at least he never wrote a song about it!!
I also thought your brother looked like David Cassidy. who was, maybe, the male Farrah.
Great post! My brother also had a naturally feathered look that I had to take an hour with a curling iron to achieve. I vote with Silkstone-David Cassidy was the Farrah for boys!
I think the Farrah for boys was Sean Cassidy. David was a little earlier, if I remember correctly.

Going off to check now....
It's a tough call. David had the better hair, but Sean had the bigger selling poster.

I had a full sized David poster in my room, but that was a few years before Farrah hit the scene. Wish I still had it.
The thing about Farrah's hair was the volume. Everybody's hair got bigger after Farrah. Including both Cassidy brothers. (I was a David fan and could probably dig out an old Partridge Family album to prove it.)
Love the pics...yes, I remember the young boys having this do...
Brings back memories. Your brother did have great hair. I liked Kate Jackson better too. And we all loved David Cassidy!
What a great post!
We acted as if our hair was a shrine to a Deity. Touch it at your peril!
