Years ago there was a .wav file making the rounds, viral audio in the age before the word viral was used so frequently. I think it was a radio show skit. Someone is calling a restaurant and the DJ answers the phone and says, "Chinese Pizza, take your order." Jimmy and I thought the joke was hilarious. If there was anything the Chinese clearly could not cook, it was pizza. Yesterday, Jimmy ordered the pizza at our hotel in Dalian, China. So I made him pose with it.
(And, yes, of course, the pizza was just fine.)
Tuesday night, Jimmy's colleague, Saleem*, and I tried to knock back a bottle of duty-free vodka. Saleem knows I am a Bloody Mary drinker, so he attempted to buy tomato juice. What he got was some messed up tasting tomato/fruit combo juice. Just plain weird and weirder with vodka in it. We added some left over Korean pepper paste from our Asiana flight in an attempt to make it spicy. Despite some vigorous stirring, the paste failed to disolve.
The first round was disgusting. The second round was much better.
