Sitting at SFO, headed to China for 2 years at least.
We spent the last three days in San Jose with friends. Just about every minute of it I longed for everything to revert to its pre-recession state. Back when I gave myself the name "overworkedtiredandnumb." We had two jobs, two kids, a tiny bungalow bursting with toys, zero free time and the most exciting weekend of the year was the Shrimp Boil hosted by Jay, et al.. Most weekends we did good to make it to Brandon and Lina's for a long session of staring at cable TV.
The global meltdown dropped a major bomb on our circle of happiness. Yesterday, I just wanted to lay on the rewind button all day. Kieran would come back from Ohio. Jay and Mary-Beth would come back from New Jersey. Christy would hassle me weekly about working out. The "syschar" gang at work would meet for lunch in the cafeteria and laugh and laugh and laugh. Everyone would have jobs.
Today I feel better. The sad goodbyes are done. On to adventure.
