Owl_Says_Who
Bio
I'm sure details will emerge as I write, but how does one encapsulate one's life in words? I consider myself a Michigan native, now misplaced in the southern MidWest. Friends and family have called me a story teller, which is possible. To anyone who reads my work, though, I offer this caution from Isabel Allende, as she describes herself: “If you ask me to tell you my life, I will try; but it will probably be a bag of lies, because I am inventing myself all the time. And at the same time, I am inventing fiction, and through this fiction, I am revealing myself.”

For Robin & La Senora (Past & Present)

Rate: 18 Flag

This one's for you, Robin, and the lovely woman - La Senora

It's also for Beck, who smiles upon you both, proudly.

I rather suspect that you could sing it to each other.

Time and distance, as you well know, have no effect on love, because love remembered  makes it present again.

This is for your bravery in love, and in life.

Cheers and much love, my friend.  We're here for you.

Free In You - Indigo Girls

A hard knock
A cold clock
Ticking off my time
A long look
But no luck Couldn't seem to find
Or unwind
Into peace of mind
While I was trying

A quick glance
A big chance
My heart beat like a drum
I saw you
And I knew
Chances just don't come
Round again
Not like this
First a laugh
Then a kiss

And I'm free in you
I've got no worries on my mind
I know what to do
That's to treat you right
And love you kind
Thank you ever on my mind
Love is just like breathing
When it's true
And I'm free in you

The lost time
And self pride
Are my big mistakes
A clear voice
A bad choice
Sounding like an ache
In my day
Not too bad
But too real
To go away

But now I'm free in you
I've got no worries on my mind
I know what to do
That's to treat you right
And love you kind
Thank you ever on my mind
Love is just like breathing
When it's true
And I'm free in you

And I don't know
How you show
Such gentle disregard
For the ugly in me
That I see
That for so long
I took so hard
(I took so hard)
And I truly believe
(I truly believe)
That you see the best in me
(That you see the best in me)
I'm in love
We all love
And that thought
Sets me free

Free in you
Got no worries on my mind
I know what to do
That's to treat you right
And love you kind
Thank you ever on my mind
Love is just like breathing
When it's true
And I'm free in you
Yes I'm free in you

For Robin Sneed who says: "Love is the House, and the House always wins."
I do say that, don't I? And now you've made me cry by reminding me...I love you, my friend. You are proof that the house does win. xox
You are proof as well, dear brother/sister. If ever I doubted, you reminded me.
I'm glad, too. ((((Robin)))) Glad you're here - on the planet, on OS, you know - in my heart and stuff. Tissue?
Oh now! Stop with the damn love fest... it doesn't help me keep my surly demeanor up when you're all bein' sappy ;)
A sweet reminder that love can transport itself across all kinds of boundaries...
This entire post is made entirely of win.
"Free in you": great place to be!
Surly - a little sappy never hurt anyone!

mamoore - ya' know . . .

Persephone - Lovely to see you around . . .

AtHomePilgrim - No doubt.
This is very sweet!

And I love the I girls..
very nice. i saw the indigo girls several years ago at bumbershoot. they were awesome.
You are such a sweetheart to do this for them. Here is to bravery in love and life.. Best of all...
trig & Cap'n - The Indigo Girls have provided a lot of soundtrack for my life, almost like we've grown up together. Got to see them in concert about 11 years ago, and they totally rocked.

fireeyes - Well, giving oneself permission to love is pretty inspiring, I think - so, it's the least I could do.
Yay for Robin Sneed and Yay for you too, Miss Owl. Hugs for everyone!
Rated for love, and especially for "Time and distance, as you well know, have no effect on love, because love remembered makes it present again."
A very good deed, indeed!!
Love demands bravery.
((((owl))))

this is perfect.

You and Robin are so inspiring to me. Your view of love is so free of the gender bullshit that I have lived with. But this is not to make it about me. You both inspire me....with your ability to love, and your ability to express it so freely.

Thank you both for including me via OS in this that you call love. I have loved reading/watching Robin come back to life here on OS. Much love and thanks to the Senora for her part in this as well. What a journey...so glad to be on the sidelines cheering.

Namaste. xox as robin loves to add.
Hey Owler...I was out with friends...we've been sleeping together pretty much every night for the last two months...this is going to be very lonely....xox
Michael - :~) I think everyone needs a hug now ant then. Actually, at least daily, if possible.

nana - Blessings, man . . . you know it's true.

Kathy - The Indigo Girls are brilliant musically, and lyrically - glad you enjoyed it.

scanner - Just trying to spread the love around . . .

Steve - So true, so very, very true.

JK - Betty, OS wouldn't be the same without you, either. We all learn from each other, no?

Robin - Dude, I'm so glad you were with friends - generally, that's a really good place to be! You'll be in our thoughts and prayers tonight . . . you are loved, my friend.
This is lovely, Owl. Great song for a great girl. We love Robin. xoxoxo
S Mama - Absolutely!
You're right Owl, a little sappy never hurt anyone. And I love the Indigo Girls. Amy and Emily went to Shamrock High School which is about a mile from where grandmother lived for several years -- the triangular block I mentioned in my last post. They used to play at venues in Little Five Points (you'd love Little Five Points) before they became big stars. Local girls who made good. Off to listen to "Touch Me Fall," always loved that song.
T. Michael - What a small world we live in! I first heard the Indigo Girls in college, and their music has mirrored my journey much of the time. "Touch Me Fall" is one of my all-time favorites, too!
Gwen - Just inspired by those who live and love well, I guess; especially when the outcome is uncertain.
