VIDEO: Iranian Woman Shot Saturday in Tehran Protest, #Neda

Rate: 1 Flag

Be advised. This video is EXTREMELY graphic, and just as tragic.

Please do not let what is happening in Iran go ignored.  Blog about it.  Tweet about it.  Let the world know you are paying attention.  This is another watershed moment in the history of new/social media, and the world; but it is also a moment of contingency.  Already, there are reports of weapons being sold in Iran for $1,000 as people prepare to defend their homes.  All is lost if this crisis disintegrates into civil war.

UPDATE: Her name might have been Neda.  On Twitter, #Neda happens.

Sad when a morally bankrupt regime resorts to such measures to stay in power. And yes, morally bankrupt. Observing religious rites, stoning homosexuals, subjugating women, abstaining from sex, does not make you morally superior. Shooting innocent citizens most certainly does not. When are we going to stop hiding behind our religions to still perpetrate such vicious inhumanity?

Though I must add, the US, in the previous regime, committed far worse atrocities, all in the name of freedom.

Thanks for bringing this particular incident to our awareness.
