Breaking the Silence
Pamela Tsigdinos
- Location
- Bay Area, California,
- Birthday
- June 12
- Bio
- I'm left-handed, six feet tall, and I like broccoli but not cauliflower. I'm Michigander by birth, Californian by choice. Oh, yeah, and I'm infertile. There. I said it. Now you'll understand how living in an era of designer babies and helicopter parents served up loads of material for my book, Silent Sorority (http://www.silentsorority.com). When I'm not working with startups in Silicon Valley, I'm a forty-something writer exploring ideas and society's norms. At the keyboard is where I am most relaxed. So join me here as I try to be less type A and maybe figure a few things out....

Julie & Julia: Life Imitating Art
I'm way late (no, not that late -- that's something I have never actually experienced).
I'm talking late in writing a review on Julie & Julia. Who waits six weeks after a film comes out to weigh in?
Me, that's who.Think of it as an opinion that's been, well,… Read full post »
Why Feminists? Why?
I could be a poster child for the feminist community.
I grew up in the 1970s listening to Marlo Thomas singing her heart out about Free to Be, You and Me! I adored Mary Tyler Moore. I grooved on the fact that I was a beneficiary of the women's movement. … Read full post »

Rest in peace, Maria del Carmen Bousada.
She has only just passed on and yet there are already more than 500 story links and nearly 3,000 blog hits. I'm not surprised, though, because we can always count… Read full post »
No Kids? Heap the Scorn, We're Ready
It's been a year since I was vilified, pilloried and condemned.
June 10, 2008 was, for me, a day unlike any other. There I was, Pamela Tsigdinos, pictured on the home page of the New York Times with a link to a feature about my husband and me -- Exhibit… Read full post »
Ruth, You're My Hero
Ah, my heart went pitter patter when I opened my Google news reader this morning.
How could it not with a headline like this: "Childless is not a synonym for weird." The story goes on to attack the myths associated with women who don't have children. I didn't bother to… Read full post »
