For LunchLady2

Rate: 8 Flag

Our LunchLady2 has been on my mind constantly during her current grief and the heartache leading up to the former. We have such a loving supportive community here and the outpouring of love and care for her and her family is tremendous!

There is a contemporary Christian group, 4Him. They wrote and recorded this song several years ago.  I have turned to it on many occasions and wanted to share it here, the lyrics are below the video:

Why?

They say that into every life, some rain must fall

For the pain is no respecter, of the mighty or the small

But sometimes, it just seems so unfair

To see the one who's had more than his share

Oh it makes you wonder why

And Lord I wouldn't second guess, your mighty plan

For I know you have a purpose, that's beyond the scope of men

If you look inside my heart, you will find

That I have always been the trusting kind

Oh but still I wonder

Why?

Do the rainy days have to come

When the storm clouds hide the sun

I wanna know why.

Why?

When the reasons aren't clear to me

When it all is a mystery

I want to know why

And though down here, I may not understand

I won't let go of the Unseen Hand

For it holds the reasons why.

The Lord has never been afraid, of honest prayers

And He won't allow the burden, to be more than you can bear

When He knows, that your trust, is in Him

He doesn't mind the questions now and then;

Even if you wonder

Why?

Do the rainy days have to come

When the storm clouds hide the sun

I wanna know why

Why?

I know my sister will appreciate this, & am sure it will offer her comfort, just as it has comforted you, so thank you!

I finally stopped asking "why?" -- & now just ask, "Can't you just fix this or something?" And sometimes, under my breath, I mutter -- very quietly hoping God won't get pissed -- "Enough already!"

The steady emotional support you offer means a lot!
My heart cries for her. This song, it is magnificent.
Thank you so much for the kind thoughts and yes I will listen to this song soon, I read the lyrics and need to settle for a bit before I listen. Mornings and late night are the worst for remembering....
The sadness hangs on us all as we watch someone we love suffering the worst thing a parent can experience. We are all helpless to take away her pain, all we can do is send prayers, thoughts and love. The song is lovely, I'm glad you posted it.
I am so happy that she has all this love to keep her warm.
