From the AP:
"After two days of protests, the New York Post apologized Thursday for a cartoon that some have interpreted as comparing President Barack Obama to a violent chimpanzee gunned down by police. But the newspaper also said its longtime antagonists exploited the image for revenge."
Well, that's pretty out there, isn't it? Why apologize at all? 200 protesters had been picketing and chanting "Boycott thePost! Shut it down!"
For "long term antagonist" insert the Rev. Al Sharpton as the primary member of that elite squad.
From the same AP piece:
"Some protesters said the cartoon not only underscored racist tropes but even suggested that Obama should be shot."
Sounds a lot like what was said here on OS.

That cartoon was despicable, regardless of what your politics is and how you feel about the current administration. It was just wrong on many levels.
Our pal Bob needs to do a great tale-off (a better one) on the crazies who are the editors at the NY Post.
