Open Call: Google Adsense Attracting Spam© ?

Rate: 3 Flag

I truly hate all sorts of Spam©, including the Internet versions.

I just added Google Adsense to my account last week. So far, I've had to go through comments on new AND old postings to remove nensense comments, re-directions to other web sites, especially those promising a fast buck, medical scams, etc.

So an open question - wait I'll call it an Open Call:  Is everyone else getting unwelcome comments that have nothing to do with their blog content? Is *anyone* else getting comments like this? Am I the on;y lucky member of OS to attract these commenters?

I'm just curious before I pull the Adsense off my account - or leave Open Salon forever. I'm hardly an often-read or frequnt poster, so that's not a big thing. But I do like questions like these to be ansered in case I start my blog up again elsewhere, without the Google crap.

Hal, I didn't sign up for the ads and so far no comments on any of my posts of the spam type. I'd say it is the addition of the ads to your blog that may be the reason.
Flag and the in-house techies may deem the senders unworthy to be members. But this sucks none the less. Thanks for the heads-up. So far not a problem even with adsense enabled.

Sorry, about the name mix-up! I meant to say "Pat."
I've only had one spammy comment since Adsense.
Thanks for the feedback. Freaky, with your prodigious output of articles, I'd say your blog is the bellwether which goes thumbs up or down on my question. I had 2 spammy comments on my last post, which I deleted. Come to think of it, there may be other spam on older posts. No reason they would necessarily stick to only the newer articles.
