I am a poet-essayist-singer-songwriter, and advocate for the poor, with a teaching and counseling background. I grew up in Florida, now live in Arden, North Carolina. I also lived in New England 20 years. I love nature, music, and poetry. I am married and we have three adult-kids between us and four grandkids! I am interfaith, leaning toward Taoist, Celtic, and Native American spirituality, and an "Obama Democrat." I am now focusing on our upcoming move (within Asheville) as well as my music and poetry-writing. I also continue to write political columns.

Just a Review of the Day

Rate: 5 Flag

A pretty good day. I did not work on any writing projects, except for OS blogging in the middle of the night. Good to take a break. We went to Goodwill and I bought a book of sayings drawn from the I Ching, along with a volume of Robert Frost and another book of sayings.

One of my ideas for a project is to put together a book of sayings. but so many of them are out there that one would have to come up with a unique approach to interest everyone. I would not mind collaborating with someone on this project but we would have to come up with something that would work for both of us.

I have made up a limited number of sayings. It is not easy...

We bought a new printer that supposedly does not use ink as fast. The printer manufacturers really rip people off with those ink cartridges.

I stopped by the Obama phone bank to meet other folks.

Linda and I are not fighting. Well, just minor conflict. We are doing much better the past two days. Whoever said marriage or a relationship is easy?

I started to look into a direct care position working with clients with autism. It is only three hours a day. That might work for me. It probably won't come about though.I hate to say I am getting used to "failure" or "rejection." Those two words are too strong

Physically, I feel pretty good, after last night struggling with pain. I have not been overeating today. That makes me feel better.

I am happy with my fellow bloggers. not with the higher ups right now. A lot of the time they have not responded to my messages. I have not sent them many. But it is terribly rude to just not respond.

Some days are like this....isn't it funny what you say about "not overeating"... a testimony to moderation.
Glad to hear you are moving forward Patrick. All the best, day by day.
