How I Choose Books at the Goodwill (100 word essay)

Rate: 4 Flag

When I look for books at the Goodwill, I scan the shelves quickly, allowing for the effect of serendipity. I become attracted first to the title, then the size. I prefer short books, because of my eyes and the way my mind works, and I usually come up with several good ones; today, "Me, Myself, and You" and "The Loser," the former a book of short essays w/suggestions on how to deal w/life challenges, the second a teen book about a kid who is dismissed by his peers because he is different. Title and length are important!

I like the books that I would never pay for. You have good senses about it. I never check the Goodwill though. The last one I went to smelled like bad breath. R and hugs!
I love it when Friends of the Library has a sale, the choices are phenomenal.

Love the 100 words. I still go to the library every week, so good on you to pay for words that may make all the difference, or just a way to spend some time NOT in front of a TV.
