Our Angel with a Broken Wing (poetry)

Rate: 4 Flag

wild wind tipped our angel

one wing gone, but not gone

lying beside her

we save them both

the wing and the angel

she still protects us

I feel it even stronger, her protection

because she is broken, because we now

share with her our pain and sorrow

and an indominable spirit

I really like this poem. Beginning with the alliterative "wild wind" sets the mind's eye on what happened, then continues with the cherished feelings for your angel and identification with her suffering and patience.
I'm imaging your angel as a sacred keepsake that has been broken somehow but still holding its value. I like it.
I really like this poem, especially the first line. It just stands out and gives a grasp on the rest of the poem. (:
I love this, Patrick. I have a broken angel, too.
