"Because you love what you are pursuing, things like rejection and setbacks will not hinder you in your pursuit"
Coach K, Duke basketball coach
What am I passionate:
*basketball (despite my age)
I have experienced plenty of setbacks in each area, but I keep going regardless. oh, I put some of them on the back burner while I pursue others, but I never give up. Where did I get this trait? When i was studying psychological anthropology, I learned that some kids who experience poverty seem to develop the ability to bounce back and keep going, despite the deprivation. They are called "copers." I am one of those. This is a cross-cultural phenomenon. Maybe there is something in the genes at work. I think that that is a factor.
Right now I am working on my poetry manuscript again, and plan to submit it this month to a publisher, despite many rejections. I keep honing and fine-tuning this work, as well as adding to it. And I love what I am doing. It often does not feel like work. Sometimes it does, though, especially the technical aspects.
What are you passionate about. Are you pursuing it, regardless of setbacks?
