OS, rumors and what I have learned

Rate: 12 Flag

Another rumor that OS is going under. I have learned not to pay much attention to this, but is there truth to this, this time?

If so, my email address is patrickgfrank@gmail.com and stay in touch.

If it happened, I know I would find another blogging venue eventually. And I am constantly working on essays and poetry.

I have learned here to value the interaction of writers and artists.

I have learned that I don't worry much about the higher-ups, but just appreciate my peers.

I have learned to appreciate those who respond to my work and whose work I relate to at a deeper level.

I have learned how important it is to write every day and get feedback.

My writing has improved, through positive reinforcement, not negative.

Yes Patrick - on all those points!
Patrick, check out Sagemerlin's latest post. There is a facebook page for us orphaned OSers to go.
Hopefully it stays afloat!
I agree. Sign up at Facebook and search for "The Orphans of open Salon" in groups. You will find a lot of us there and can friend everyone.
You've got it all right! Thanks for your contact info. :)
Thank you Patrick,I wrote your email-address on a sheet.
Patrick, I'll be on the lookout for more from your page. Meanwhile, keep on plucking!
Glad to see you just joined Orphans of Open Salon on Facebook, Patrick. Earlier today I rejoined two after dropping out awhile back when it seemed as if OS was cleaning up its act. Now, with the latest financial news looking so gloomy for Salon.com, I see Orphans as a good place to hang out and for us to keep in touch there until we can come up with something more like what we have here. I'm enthusiastic with the discussion Sagemerlin started today about either trying to obtain OS from Salon.com and converting it into a nonprofit enterprise or else finding a new platform to start up a blogging community similar to OS.
I meant to say that I rejoined too. Gosh, just anticipating the fall of OS is messing with my grammar skills.
Google has a blog site that's free with a GMail account. You can post there and share on Facebook. All is definitely not lost. Well, as long as you back up your work, right? (My writing's improved too).
It is vital to back up your work. I wrote a complete children's book on another site and it folded w/o warning and I could not get it back.
I wish I could be as accepting and philosophical as you are, Patrick.
