Reflections for the Creative Person

A gift is not a gift if you expect something in return

A random approach to creativity can prove to be very fruitful.

A true friend listens, does not judge and provides encouragement.

At the root of anxiety is the feeling of loss of control.

At the root of love is trust.

Avoiding dealing with critical issues can be the kiss of death.

Consider the needs of others.

Creative collaboration is something to pursue.

Creative work includes the sharing with others.

Deep darkness can lead to dazzling light.

Diversity generates creativity.

Don’t beat around the bush. Go straight to the heart of the matter.

Don’t forget that not everyone thinks like you, or should.

Don’t let anyone destroy your hopes and dreams.

Do your best to break down barriers that divide you from people.

Each day is new and filled with possibility.

Expect that the creative wave will advance and recede.

Expect the unexpected.

Exploration of memories may mark the way to a better path.

Fame and fortune say nothing about the quality of the person.

Genuine remorse can lead to radical growth.

Help yourself so that you can help others.

If you can’t laugh at yourself, the ego is out of control.

It is impossible, in the end, to hide falsity.

It is sometimes wise to flee in the face of evil.

It’s good to admit that you don’t have all the answers.

Make your to-do list and then do it.

Never give up on your most cherished dreams.

Obsession with making money implies a poverty of the spirit.

One can sense a positive or negative spirit in a place.

Out-of-control anger diminishes the self.

People put others down in order to lift themselves up.

Poetry, when it comes, is a gift from a deeper place.

Seek Justice for yourself and others.

Seek transcendence through ordinary experience.

Simplicity plus depth, a good way to go.

Sometimes focus on detail, other times the broad panorama.

Strive to transcend cultural limitations.

Take a clear-eyed view of uncomfortable aspects of reality.

Take it slow and life will flow.

The vast mountains, the ocean depths, and the infinity of space inspire.

There is a time when one must stand up to a bully.

When possible, transform your dreams into reality.

When you encourage someone, you encourage yourself.

Winning is less important than the game itself.

Writing down creative ideas is a very good idea, itself.

You can learn many important life lessons from your enemies.

You may hurt me on the outside but you can’t destroy my spirit.
