I have been a grassroots organizer for over 40 years. That's right, I'm one of those - a community organizer. For most of the past 20 years I have been the director of Peninsula Peace and Justice Center in Palo Alto, CA. PPJC is the leading grassroots activist organization on the San Francisco Peninsula. Starting a little over a year ago, I and a fellow conspirator, (TD, a talented videographer and editor) launched an ongoing series of short videos called "Orwell Was An Optimist." I write and appear in the videos, TD does all the techno/magical stuff. We've produced 38 Orwells so far. Orwell is political commentary. Of a sort. We have two guiding principles: no formulas and don't do what everybody else is doing. I think we usually meet those goals, if not always elegantly.
