We thought I was pregnant with twins.

We had an ultrasound about a week ago and they saw two sacs. 

We had another one this week to check for a heart beat. 

Here's the conversation as follows:

Tech: Okay, baby 1's heartbeat is 168.  Baby 2's heartbeat is 108......  pause... okay, wait a sec here.. there's a third. 

Me: Silent for a moment... um, no... there's not three just two.

Tech: How many embryos were there?

Me: Two. 

Tech: Looks like one split in two. Trying to get a good look at it but it's hiding behind the other one. 

Me: (wtf going on in my head)... so, is there a third heartbeat or what?

Tech: I can't get a good sight on it, breathe in and hold while I press down a little...

Me: Breathe in and hold.....

Tech: Nope, I won't be able to see it today. Next week when they grow we'll get a better look. Congrats.

Me: Thanks.

We go in the hall after the procedure, I call in the Mister... and the ladies were telling me, "Well, let's tell him and see the look on his face..."

Me: So, there's no twins.... it's triplets.

Him: Really? (stunned).

We go to a room and sit down and the doctor comes in with a bright smile on her face.... 

Doc: Looks like you have three. We'll do one more ultrasound and discharge her next week. Call your obgyn and see if they do multiples, if not they'll tell you where to go.

Me: (later in the day I called the obgyn) Do you take triplets?

Them: Let me check..................no, they go straight to Evanston Hospital. High risk babies need more care.

Me: Alright....

(later in the day)..

Me: Hey, I'm waiting for fedex to bring meds someone has to stay for it to be signed.

Spouse: So, do you want to get out or can I go out for a couple hours?

Me: Go ahead. I'm tired anyway.

He ends up going out for almost four hours, went to the shooting range, then to the cigar shoppe, then home. 

I guess he needed to take it all in. LOL
