There's been an awful lot of death in the media this week, a young Iranian woman- now a symbol of the revolution, a few stars from decades past, and most recently an infomercial spokesman, but the one that hit me hardest was one that will never make a headline.
My friend's youngest sister sold off all of her belongings, and OD'd on June 18th. Her family found her and rushed her to the hospital, but all that did was slow the process. Her father spent Fathers's day not golfing, or grilling with his family, but at the hospital wondering whether to pull the plug on his baby girl. The family said their goodbyes and let her go on Monday, June 22.
I still remember her as a scrappy little kid, all pigtails and freckles, squealing with delight when her new puppy licked her face. Awful to think that moment might've been one of the high points of her short life.
Sherri, where ever you are, I hope you've found peace, and I hope your family finds the strength to carry on.

BTW Verbal Remedy I was in the middle of posting a comment on you one of your posts and it disappeared. I was attempting to clear up the questions about Kind of Blue. What happened?
