posting photos on OS

Rate: 1 Flag

i just found out that OS has a default setting of 285 width for photos. I have been upset that my photos weren't being posted in the size I had saved them. So I went into the HTML and saw the size attribute -- on my post about brush painting (Making a mark) i resized down to the file size and voila it worked!

Do I have to go into the HTML every time now? Or save the file with a wide white border -- so all images upload at 285 pixels wide?

 Any tips out there? Thanks.

Firefox! That platform will allow you to click and drag adjustment.
hey odetteroulette -- i don't know exactly what you mean... you don't use salon's media upload? or by using firefox instead of safari OS gives me more options?

thanks.
In case odetteroulette isn't reading, I'll chip in to say, "The latter." That is, the media upload is necessary, but once the image is uploaded, Firefox allows you to manipulate it directly rather than forcing you to go into the HTML, as is required with Safari. This post has more details, even if you probably know most of it already.
oh great rob, thanks. i'll go look at that other post.
so, i tried the firefox thing -- and on my system it won't even let me log in -- ha! so i guess it's using html for me.
If all else fails, just go into the OS editor and click the HTML button. A window will open with a lot of code. Look for all the "285"s and change them to "485" and the images will span the entire column width.

However, make sure to save you images at least 72 dpi and 485 pixels wide or the images will look blurred and pixely. If the images are too big, the OS upload will automatically downsize them, so likely you don't need to worry too much about sizing the images just right.

Feel free to ask if you have trouble - just message me.
thanks arts -- good to know you're there as a resource.
