no go

I have made a new discovery, one that will help anyone that needs to sand polyurethane from an old bench so that they can refinish it. Unconcentrated urine from a 17 year old cat in renal failure with an overactive thyroid, filtered through a rubber backed utility mat, will strip the polyurethane from wood. Who knew.

It's a rough life...

I repotted a plant today. This plant is actually older than I am. I know! Pretty awesome. It was again root-bound and looking ragged so I cut it to pieces, dumped out the dirt and found an acorn, sprouted, and a walnut, unsprouted. I have very industrious squirrels here. It is now tiny again, but I put Miracle Grow in the pot so I expect great things. I leave it outside in the summer so it doesn't look too pampered on a good day, let alone right after being savaged.

This is the only one of Mom's plants that is still alive.

I am back on the vegan diet for the next month or so. It's amazing what meltdowns and a total restructuring of your outlook can do for your selfconfidence and general attitude. I am also going to find a pocket door for my bathroom, and hope that it comes with really good directions (how hard can it be, really), and get started on putting the really big cupboards in there so my linens can come out of the small bedroom. The things we do when we buy a house with no storage capabilities...

No irony, no strange people, no sex, nothing to make my story interesting yet,  so back to laundry and dishes. Fingers are crossed, though...

I wish I had a cat. No plants here, except some Bamboo.
Hi, tai. I have to admit I wouldn't trade her for anything. It would be nice, though, if she respected all of the work I put into trying to keep a nice house. Are you in a place where cats aren't allowed?

Bamboo is a good plant, right? Easy care and all that.
Puff is adorable. And I have that same plant too, but it needs some care. Perhaps a new cutting and rooting is in order.
You have a plant over a 100 years old. Wow!:-)
FusunA, that is immediately post- cutting. A bit sad now, but in a week or so it will be perked up. I didn't care for it last summer, I just kept it alive. :-(

Scanner, crazy, isn't it!
