Gosh, it's only Tuesday. Can you believe it? It should really be like Thursday or something. A lot going on, starting with classes starting this week. Management Information Systems. Learnig to use information and technology in business, I think. I do know we're going to learn how to use HTML to create a web page. Finally. I learned it a little bit back in 2003(?) but lost my notes when I left the job I was at so lost the knowledge. Now, I'm getting it back. The university I work at sets aside server space for each employee to create a web page, so I'm going to finally use mine to practice what I'm learning. Sure, in all my spare time. No, I will. It's a good skill, worth practicing.
I sprayed some more weed killer. (Sorry JT, but they need to be controlled.) I've got most of it done but my elbow started hurting from squeezing the sprayer. My right hand is getting in shape, anyway. Dad is bringing his spreader over for me Wednesday. Now I need to go online and find out how many square feet my yard is. Did I want to be reseeding my lawn this week, and killing weeds? No. I wanted to be digging up the sod and leveling out an area to put out the pavers a friend gave me. About 100 sf worth. Plus the approximately 24 sf of brick I have already. A decent sized pad. No, I am not going to get gravel and tamp it all down. I am going to just get the grass out, till it up well, rake it out smooth, put down landscape fabric and set the pavers. Maybe seal it with sand. And find a way to roll it down without asking my neighbor. I'm really close to shooting his mower if it ever enters my yard again. The tire tracks from a week ago are still in my yard. And I have a .22.
Oh, you're going to love this. In my class, all about information and technology, the grad student teaching my class was giving a lecture today. Part of the lecture was talking about "a rule of thumb in the history of computing hardware whereby the number of transistors that can be placed inexpensively on an integrated circuit doubles approximately every two years," otherwise known as Morton's Law. A girl two rows in front of me raised her hand and asked what a transistor is. I know, I was shocked, too, but it woke me up. The grad student teaching the class didn't know!!! She, who is studying MIS, and is teaching us Morton's Law, didn't know what a transistor was and didn't look it up on the computer she was using to teach the class!!! She said she'd look it up later and let the girl know. So I got out my HTC Inspire and Googled it for the girl. So much for using technology and information.
Puff just left. She wants me to go to sleep, at least to put the computer away, but I'm having trouble turning off my brain. In fact, I just remembered something I need to do...
Well, I seem to have misplaced a library book. I really hope it's at work.
Tomorrow, I need to call the VA to reschedule an appointment. The letter they sent said 2:35 am, which is going to be a bit inconvenient. I need to look for that book. And I need to call the surveyors. I still haven't done that, either.
Guess I'm all talked out now. Sorry if I was boring, but that was my day. Have a good night.
