Another beautiful morning to drive to work. The drought this year is giving some excellent colors to the sunrises. I am totally in awe, and have to force myself to put the camera down so that I can drive in a reasonably straight line. Isn't that blue sky beautiful.
This inspired me to think about God and the wonders of the world. I wondered why God would make something this beautiful for us to enjoy. What did we do to deserve it?
Of course, I said to myself that it is physics, the refraction of light through moisture in the atmosphere, that creates these beautiful views. Then, I became the universe.
Have you ever done that? I have a couple of times before this, and it was a bit scary. Today, I was more accustomed and enjoyed the feeling of being one with space and the planets and the dust. It was all me and I was it. This picture is the closest I could find to what I saw...

I wasn't flying through space, I was space. The orbs spinning, life all around me. We aren't earthbound beings. We are life. We are all connected in ways we can't imagine because we are all one. Why would a being create this universe? What makes humans so special? What is the purpose of this vast entity?
This vast entity is us.

M.C.S., aren't they amazing. This is what my phone does to the sunrise.
Lea, thanks! Indiana has good sky.
of True vision, sort of an emersonian thing.
the feeling is not worth hanging onto

believe me.
then there is worship of a god who is you.
then there is mystical worship of void, yet return to see
it all jives up.

Rated.
Scylla, I hope you find the feeling again. You deserve it.
I shouldn't get started, I'll get down on myself because I wasted so much of my life being super productive instead of useful things like stargazing. Blech. Beautiful sky there, it was 108 here today and nothing but grey clouds, strange day here.
H.R.Der R., thanks.
Dianne, I know what you mean. I was just lucky to be there.
Maureen, thanks.
Bleue, that would be a strange day. Did you ever think that you had to spend your youth as you did so you could appreciate the important stuff now? I ponder that, sometimes.
B. P., thanks.
I'm curious what region of Indiana. I lived in Lafayette for a while. The skies were panoramic and sometimes spectacular. I once had a colleague/friend move East from Nebraska and talk about how she couldn't see the sky; it wasn't until I lived in Indiana that I understood what she meant. I doubt I could locate the photos but one of the things I saw out there was rainbows, unbelievable rainbows, double full arcs ground to ground where the spectrum direction reverses in the inner one, rainbows that I hung around to watch until they left but that lasted so long I actually got bored, and one rainbow that was photographed for the cover of the local paper, printed in BLACK & WHITE, and was still clearly visible.
I can't imagine that if you're down in, say, Bloomington, that you'd see skies like that in too many places because the terrain is too hilly and wooded. (This isn't a rivalry comment - Bloomington would have been a better fit for me than Lafayette as a resident. If you're in Indiana, you understand exactly what I mean by "rivalry comment.")
We just finally started getting a sunset or two in AZ, we have had fewer clouds and not as many rainbow sunsets as usual. Naturally, I am never awake for dawn, but my sweetie is, and he posts a lot of glorious sunrises on his Instagram.
Kosher, I live in a fairly flat part. Not many rainbows lately but I'll start looking for doubles. And thanks for the info on the RP. I had no idea.
Stim, you said it perfectly.
Oryoki, thank you for the insight. I look forward to getting closer to that. And your sweetie is very thoughtful.
Jmac, thanks.

my study of philosophy says this.
either God is the creator of the universe ( i dont believe that)
or God is the first Creation of the utter primal Creativity that
is 'yearning ' for actuality.
God? he is Actual as well as Potential. A companion looking over yr shoulder every mintute, w/o judgment, hungry for experience,
actuality
or
a pregnant void of poetentiality. both. bipolar god.
thank you.

James, I like that. God as voyeur. It has a rhythm to it.
Daisyjane! Goosebumps are good. I hope you are able to help people see the truisms in life.
I like the accompanying existential thoughts that go along...lovely, Phyllis.
Olga, thank you! I do love the sky.
