So my son asked me what I know about the Aztec calendar 2012 prophecies and end of the world scenerios.  I felt it was my fatherly duty to explain that there wasn't any Aztec calendar 2012 prophecies and that most Aztecs I knew were of the belief that the most likely end of the world scenerio would be that some Spaniard would screw everyone over sometime in the 1520s.

This didn't sit well with the boy who proceeded to explain that there was an entire Hollywood blockbuster of a movie on the subject and that John Cusack  had some sort of divine knowledge on the subject and I should get with the program.

Oh that, said I. That's not any kind of Aztec calendar 2012 prophecies, that's  all about the Mayan calendar 2012 prophecies. Mayans, not Aztecs.

And yes, that's all true.
