When I first picked up the electric guitar I had a Kent Strat knock-off. Bought it at Sears on a Saturday morning and by that night had joined the Rock and Roll Revolution.
Kent was a cheap POS axe made by Teisco, the major Japanese maker of guitars in the sixties. Teisco Del Rey guitars were for the most part rip-offs of better known American Fenders and Gibsons, but for us kids with little money they were the ticket to the big time.
Just cleaned up an old Teisco logo and loaded it up to a Cafepress store. I think it makes for a pretty cool Teisco Del Rey t-shirt.
