are there any others that have any kind of serious reactions to fragrances, or chemicals ? or do/did you know someone, that sort of became allergic or intolerant to chemicals, or a new building ? i have had to make some radical changes in my life the past several years, recently i looked at my life, and i didn't recognize it! Organic is, of course, very important to me, avoiding plastic/chemicals , having air cleaners can help my health,, but, it's so much more than that.
its stuff many people do not even think about IE. perfume, soap, dye, air freshener, kitchen/bathroom cleaners, floor cleaners, handi-wipes, skin & hair care products, laundry detergent & dryer sheets. paint, carpet, furniture, mobile/pre-fab buildings, synthetic fabrics, plastic electronics, pacaging, storage cotainers, appliances, .vynal floors, windows and doors....
the most difficult part of dealing with this is finding a "safe" place to live. most of us end up homeless. i have heard us reffered to 'invisible cripples'. i have been been learning to live as much as possible, like people did 100 years ago, or more...i have become a soap maker, and home bound,...damn happy/lucky to have a roof over my head,
ANYONE OUT THERETHAT KNOWS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT/UP AGAINST ? your input could be invaluable...

CONSIDER what food and non food grocery items are packaged in,plastics. it is impossible to completly avoid plastics , scents and millions of petroleum chemicals,[ AKA' the miricals of science'], even asprin and yogurt come in plastic. just think of all the petro- chemicals, adhesives and padding in furniture, beds, carpeting/flooring, insulation... then there are things like shoes with treated leather and/or plastic. dyed cotton and synthetic clothing, curtains, furniture...plastic kitchen appliances large and small ...,....,....,....,....,....,....,....,....,....,....,....,....,....,....,
the trick with so many things is to get them used, after they have 'outgassed, and befor they get too old and start to desintegrate, or purchase things like blenders ,toasters, shoes and fans, store them in a place away from the house that gets allot of fresh air, for a year or so befor you need/can use them.
if you are a renter, there is a whole new set of problems like new paint, carpet, industrials cleaners and other maitinance repairs using voc componds. pesticide spraying fumes from neighbors chemical cleaners, and automobiles. fertalizer and herbacicdes used to maintain grounds. and no control or say as to what the landlord and neighs use in and around the appartment, that may be disabling to a person with multiple chemical intolerance
i have been at this for over a decade, and trust me, it is an ongoing process, no'JUST' about it. i am so gratefull that i have found a place that i have been allowed to alter to suit my needs.too bad i had such a small budget to make it livable, but, like i said it's a process...
