WELCOME TO A CRIPPLE'S WORLD From here on out, this blog will carry regular contributions by the author (me), concerning how and where the disabled are inaccurately portrayed, or more often than not, simply ignored by the media. Please feel free to read my previous posts, as this is something of a "stream of consciousness" blog, and one entry very well may, and often does depend on what has already been said. Please be aware, I am un-PC, a bit of a smart ass, and as Rodney Dangerfield said in "Back to School" "I don't take shit from nobody" :-D If the things said here offend you, then so be it. I am a strong minded, strong willed man with an opinion. However, my opinion can and does change over time, as I mature and learn more about the world. So, if you are in the mood to argue, or see something you disagree with, bring it on. Just be forewarned that what I consider "offensive" is not what the rest of the world may find offensive, and vice versa. Okay? Man Flies Car--First nominee for stupid/crazy of 2010

I'm watching ESPN's "New Year, No Limits", and just watched Extreme Sports hero, Travis Pastrana fly a rally car nearly 260 feet over a river onto a floating barge.

Now, I love Travis, and I love watching eXtreme sports, including skateboarding, snowboarding, motoX and Rally Car.

 But, it's times like this, when I'm watching Travis do a midnight jump, when I have to ask...

 IS THIS GUY FREAKING NUTS??

Placebo: I just read your bio after noticing a comment that someone had made to you about it. That is a bold and fearless statement. You've certainly set yourself out there and said "this is who I am." Cripple or not, you are walking the walk. Best in the new year to you.

Thanks. This is more "me" than my old one I had til yesterday. That was more, for lack of better word, the "professional" me, and this new bio is the "personal" me if that makes any sense

Oh, I get it...it's the thrill seeking adrenaline rush of the event. But it's still crazy. This guy has had more surgery than I've had LOL

Are you too young to remember the stunts Evel Knuevel did? Yikes! I'm sure EK is this guy's idol! Happy New Year, Stud! Rated. D

You're right, this really is just the next step in the evolution of thrill seeking vis a vis Evil Kinevil. It just amazes me *HOW MUCH* these guys push the limits. Last year Travis jumped out of an airplane with no parachute....yeeesh

Of course you have to be crazy to try such a stunt... but maybe he is also an adrenaline addict... that could explain a lot of things... right?

Some people want to try and demolish any known limit for their field of activity... To answer your question: is he crazy? Don't think so... but he is very determined to be the best.
